Eligibility: Primary care physicians and general dentists practicing at least 20hrs/week in HPSA in Maine.
Benefit/Obligation: For those making a loan, offers interest rates ranging from 0 to 8 percent on amount withdrawn.
2. Doctors for Maine’s Future Scholarship

Eligibility: Substantial connection to the state of Maine and at least one year of residence in Maine for purposes other than education. Current medical schools that participate are Maine Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Benefit/Obligation: May be awarded up to 50% of the institution’s cost of attendance or $25,000 annually, whichever is else. The award in renewable up to four successive years. Contact the institution (Tufts/NEC) regarding application requirements.
