1. Rural Health Care Access and Physician Incentive Program (RHCAP/RPIP)

Benefit: Grants of up to $35,000 per year for a max of one year (RHCAP) may be awarded to eligible entities serving areas designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas or Medically Underserved Areas. RPIP: provides loan repayment for qualifying physicians serving federally-designated shortage areas in ID. Focused on primary care/pediatrics. Physicians may receive a max of $50,000 over a four year period toward their academic debt. Currently 7 physicians in this program.

2. Idaho Rural Physicians Incentive Program

Eligibility: MD or DO with completed Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association Residency. Idaho Medical Board certified/Board eligible.
Benefit/Obligation: Payment of up to $50,000 toward qualified educational loans of participating health professionals over a one to five year period of service in a location of physician need. $10,000/yr of service in addition to salary.

Deadline: Begin on or before September 30 for two continuous years of full-time clinical practice.
